WordPress-Theme: Relaxation
Nach dem ich in den letzten Tagen ein sehr erfreuliches Feedback zum Design meines Blogs erhielt, habe ich nun (in aller Eile) noch etwas die Theme-Dateien aufgeräumt, kleinere Anpassungen vorgenommen (Formatierung der Kommentare z.B.) und schließlich den Style hochgeladen. Et volá: mein erstes WordPress-Theme steht der Allgemeinheit zur Verfügung. ;)

Warum Relaxation? Ein User im Forum auf WordPress.org bezeichnete das Theme als beruhigend (soothing). Das fand ich ganz nett und da es ja im Vergleich zu vielen bunten Styles recht gedeckt gehalten ist, hat es vielleicht eine entspannende und erholsame Wirkung? Das ist natürlich Nonsens, mir fiel einfach nichts besseres ein. ;)
Über Feedback zum Theme würde ich mich freuen, denn mir ist natürlich auch daran gelegen, es weiter zu verbessern und/oder Fehler auszumerzen. Have fun!

Thanks to magma, there is already a dutch translation available. Look over here or grab your copy of relaxation.zip. The nl_NL.mo is now included in the package.
Update 2006-01-11:
The whole theme is now localised via the gettext()-functionality of WordPress. Included in the package are at the moment the de_DE-version and the en_US-version which should function as a reference for editing and translating the phrases. It would be really appreciated if somebody just has the time and translate the *.po-file in his native language. Using poedit, this only takes some minutes. If you have questions regarding this issue, please drop me a line. Thanks.

WordPress 2.0 is using a screenshot of the theme in the admin-panel. This has been added.

Included the Photoshop PSD files and a Photoshop action to create such backgrounds. Hope it works for you.

I had never touched the files archives.php and 404.php until today. Mea Culpa. Thanks to D.P. for mentioning this issue.

After a comment from Clemens that my own version of relaxation is working in safari, I’ve put my style.css in the download archive and hope again that safari-users can use this theme too (now).

- removed some left over german phrases
- changed the comments slightly
- added an alternative set of background-images
- included a folderblog-template in relaxation-style

- fixed the problem with the wrong indent of the link-list
- should now validate as XHTML 1.1

Meinst Du die Zufallsbilder hier in der Sidebar oder meine Photogalerie an sich? Ich denke mal die Zufallsbilder, oder?
Das habe ich mit ich mit dem Random Image Rotator bewerkstelligt. Zu finden hier. In dem Paket ist eine Datei rotate.php enthalten, die kopierst Du in ein Verzeichnis auf Deinem Webspace wo Du die Bilder (Thumbnails) zu liegen hast.
Nun mußt Du nur noch in der sidebar.php einen Link auf die rotate.php setzen. Bei mir sieht das wie folgt aus:

(Die eckigen Klammern gegen spitze austauschen. ;) ) Das war es schon. Wenn Du magst, schau mal ins deutsche WordPress-Forum, dort habe ich es auch mal beschrieben und wenn Fragen auftauchen, kannst Du ja dort nachhaken. ;)

Did you modify the get_links_list() function in wp-includes to fix the indentation of the BlogRoll list? On my stock install it is indented a bit more than the other entries on the sidebar. It’s a great theme that I have been trying to reengineer on my end, so thanks for making the theme available to us!

@StonedBene Eigentlich habe ich nicht mehr viel verändert. Nur das Aussehen der Kommentare und den Code aufgeräumt. Würde also reichen, wenn Du die comments.php und die style.css kopierst. Sonst mußt Du nämlich das Datumsformat wieder neu anpassen. Ich habe es auf das Originallayout zurückgestellt. Aber mal gucken, vielleicht mach ich auch noch eine deutsche Version. ;-)
@roodee Thanks for the feedback. =) You’re right, I’ve modified the file wp_root/wp-includes/links.php, cause the list-tags (ul, li) where nested somewhat quirky. But I get my hand on this and trying to solve this problem with CSS only. Check back soon. ;-)

Hello i really like this theme for wp i want so much to use it however this theme is broken in Safari which is my and most of my audiences browser.
Can you please repair this error please.
The problem being the sidebar appears incorrectly at bottom of page instead of correct position.
Please fix this problem or tell me how to fix it.

I have isolated the problem in safari with this theme.
Safari does not like “float” command as a result is not understanding how to correctly position. the sidebar.
the problem is that you need to turn off float for whichever column is always taller.

I edited the “content” section in style.css
I changed float to position and it solved my problem.

I thank you very much for solving this problem (since I have no access to a mac with safari). I will look out for a CSS–Hack hiding this solution from other browsers and add it to the style-sheet. I will put a note in there, with your name and a link to your site, okay?
Check back often here if you like, since I still have to solve the problem with the ‘link’-section in the sidebar, wich is indented more then the other sidebar-topics.

Simply put Safari does not recognize float command and is therefore neccesary to set content to position instead of float for the sidebbar to correctly align within safari browser.

There was one really anoying thing: the wrong indent of the link-list in the sidebar, as mentioned earlier by roodee. I’m really happy, that this is now fixed. =)
Through these changes, the theme should perfectly validate as XHTML 1.1.

Die Galerie (an der ich noch einiges ändern möchte) ist mit folderblog umgesetzt.

Ein sehr kleines PHP–Script, aber äußerst flexibel und dadurch recht leicht an jede Website anzupassen. Guck es Dir mal an und wenn Du Fragen hast melde Dich. Für den Anfang nimmst Du für folderblog am besten die CSS–Datei vom Relaxation-Theme. Je nach dem, ob Du den gleichen Stil wie im Blog haben möchtest oder Du entwickelst was eigenes (was ja normalerweise immer mehr Spaß macht ;-) ).

Naja ich werds mir mal anschauen. Hab noch ein paar Dinge die ich bei mir einbauen möchte. Allerdings bin ich ein ziemlicher CSS und PHP Anfänger. Von daher wird das wohl nicht ganz so einfach. ;) … aber probieren geht über studieren. Und danke für das Angebot und die Antwort.
Da kommt gleich noch né Frage. Wie bindest du die kleinen Bilder mitten in einen Artikel ein? Einfach nur über HTML?

Ja, das ist kein Problem. Ganz normal über den IMG–Quicktag im Admin-Bereich beim Schreiben des Artikels. Du meinst wahrscheinlich, warum der Text das Bild sozusagen umfließt? Dazu ist eine kleine Anpassung in der style.css notwendig. Bei mir sieht das so aus:
#content img { float: left; }Das bedeutet, daß sich der Textumfluß nur auf die Bilder im Content-Bereich, also auf die eigentlichen Beiträge bezieht. Die Formulierung
float: left;sorgt dafür, daß das Bild am linken Rand steht und der Text auf der rechten Seite vorbeifließt. Genauso wäre auchfloat: right;möglich, dann würden die Bilder am rechten Rand platziert werden.Bei Bedarf kannst Du das aber auch mal schnell im Beitrag ändern, mit sog. inline-code. Du fügst dann einfach ganz normal das Bild ein und ergänzt dann
<img>o.ä.

That looks perfect. Thanks for finding this out. :) I’ve changed it to:
left: 1px;since you must provide a unit to the value. I’ve just put in my own theme and it works great, looks identical in all new browsers under windows and the CSS is now validating perfectly.

Hi, sehr schönes Theme, aber ich habe noch ein kleines Problem: Ich habe das Theme installiert und die die deutsche Sprachdatei von Wordpress.de installliert. Allerdings gibt es jetzt einen Sprachen Mischmasch. Zb. Heisst es in der Sidebar zwar “Kategorien” aber immernoch “Archive”. Und auch weitere englische Wörter/Sätze sind noch vorhanden. Bei dir hier auf der Seite ist aber alles Deutsch, was muss ich machen damit das bei mir auch so ist?

Also daß es in der Sidebar immer noch Archive heißt, liegt an der Übersetzung der locale Funktion, das wird in allen Themes so übersetzt. Ich vermute mal, es soll die Mehrzahl von Archiv sein. ;) Genauso übersetzt er Search mit Suchen statt Suche.
Ich habe die Anpassungen per Hand vorgenommen. Du müßtest Dir also etwas Zeit nehmen und mal die Template-Dateien im Verzeichnis /wp-content/themes/relaxation/einzeln durchgehen und alle englischen Wörter die Dich stören mit den deutschen überschreiben. Also wenn in der Sidebar z.B. steht:
<h2> ?php _e('Archive'); ?></h2>dann änderst Du das in:
<h2>Archiv</h2>Das macht zwar insgesamt etwas Arbeit, aber Du hast dann natürlich völlig freie Hand, kannst also statt Archiv auch Ablage o.ä. schreiben. ;)
Alternativ könnte ich Dir natürlich mein Original-Template schicken, an dem müßtest Du aber auch noch etwas basteln, ich hab ja z.B. in der Sidebar noch einen Link zu meinen Photos und so. Kann ich Dir aber gerne schicken wenn Du magst. =)

Hi John,
I’m not shure what tagline means. Is it the ‘archive for category …’-thing? If so, you have to edit the #header ID in the style.css. You must change the height value there.
#header { background: transparent; color: #a0a999; float: left; font-size: 11px; height: 120px; margin: 0; padding: 8px 30px 0 7px; text-align: right; width: 490px; }Simply lower the 120px until it suits your needs.
Or am I wrong with the meaning of the word tagline? Hopefully not. ;-)

John, then you must edit the file header.php. Look for the lines:

<a href="<?php echo get_settings('home'); ?>"> ?php bloginfo('description'); ?> </a>So in general this is done via the function:
?php bloginfo('description')>See also here.
You may then change the colour and size of the font (change the 30px) or other things. Hope this helps. =)

Mumkin, you’re right. This behaviour is not intended. I’ve tested the site and the theme with the Safari Screenshot Generator (SSG) and everything looks fine. I think it’s all about a
floatbug in safari and it really makes me sleepless nights. ;)I could remove the
float: left;statement from #content and the problem disappears, but the layout in all other browsers looks slightly different then. And I’m still wondering why the screenshot in the SSG looks okay.If anyone has an idea…?

Hi!
Ich mag das Theme und habe es gerade mal auf meinem englischen Blog installiert. Das Theme welches man herunterladen kann funktioniert was die Navigation angeht nicht korrekt. Dein Blog selber sieht aber korrekt aus. Kann es sein das der Bugfix fuer Safari noch nicht (oder nicht mehr) im Download enthalten ist?

float:leftElemente. Die habe ich in meinem Stylesheet soweit es geht entfernt und die sind jetzt auch in der downloadbarenstyle.cssdrin. Also hoffe ich ganz stark, daß es jetzt auch da funktioniert.Also keine Eile, aber ich freue mich, wenn Du es mal ausprobierst. :)

John, danke fuer dein Theme. Ich hab es jetzt bei mir fertig eingebaut und zu einem dreispaltigen Theme incl. Headergrafik umgebaut. Im Moment arbeite ich an einem Plugin um die 3. Spalte aus WordPress heraus pflegen zu koennen. Sobald das fertig ist kann ich dir die sourcen incl. dem 3. spaltigen Theme gerne zur Verfuegung stellen.
Ich werde aber erstmal im laufe der naechsten Woche mal dein orginales Theme ausprobieren.

Hallo Clemens,
erst mal ein großes Lob für Deine Kreation, das ist echt der Hammer und sieht klasse aus! Ich bin auch immer noch am Überlegen, ob ich oben eine große Headergrafik einbaue, jetzt weiß ich wenigstens, wie das wirken würde. ;) Du kannst das auch gerne als “Big Relaxation” :D oder so ähnlich, publik machen. Die Theme-Sache verstehe ich ja gerade so, daß jeder sein eigenes, indiviuelles Layout bastelt, sonst wird es ja schnell langweilig (siehe originales Kubrick-Theme).
Du kannst es mir natürlich auch gerne schicken und ich packe dann in meine ZIP–Datei einen Ordner 2-spaltig und einen 3-spaltig. :)
Das mit dem Plugin klingt interessant, ich habe mich heute auch gerade zum ersten Mal mit der Plugin–API beschäftigt und kämpfe mich da so langsam rein. Das Grundkonzept ist ja recht einfach, manche Dinge verstehe ich noch nicht so ganz, aber das wird schon.
Noch mal, ganz große Klasse Dein Layout!

Ich hätte auch ein kleines Problem mit folderblog. Nachdem ich nun php4-gd auf meinem Server installiert habe, werden zwar Bilder angezeigt, aber keine Thumbnails von den Bildern (
) Was mache ich falsch?

Sorry für die späte Reaktion meinerseits.
Du mußt jeweils nach dem Upload eines Bildes die Datei
post.phpstattindex.phpim folderblog-Verzeichnis aufrufen. Dann erscheinen Eingabefelder, in denen Du z.B. ein Datum eintragen und eine Erläuterung zum Bild schreiben kannst. Du mußt dann ein Passwort eingeben (wird in der Dateivars.phpdefiniert) und klickst dann auf: “Create Thumb and Update”.John

Axel, never mind. ;) Ich halte das Kubrick-Theme für sehr gelungen, aber wenn man es überall sieht, wird es einem schnell über. Na gut, daß gilt zumindest für mich. ;)

Gott, ich hab soviel Dinge im Kopf momentan… ;) Stimmt hatte ich mir angeschaut, seltsames Phänomen. Kannst Du selbst denn Kommentare schreiben? Eher nicht, oder? Also da Du die Seite auf freecity hostest, würde mir als Stichwort safe_mode PHP einfallen oder die Kommentare müssen noch irgendwie aktiviert werden, aber das ist eigentlich unwahrscheinlich. Wenn nicht schick mir mal Dein Folderblogverzeichnis gepackt als ZIP (Dein FB-Passwort kannst Du ja ändern.) an jowra at jowra dot de.

Nein dasist die ganz normale archiv.php die in dem Themeordner drin is,die ich da ansteuere.
Es kann schon sein das das am Blogcountercode liegt.Ich teste das mal.Der Blogcountercode versaut mir nämlich auch validen xhtml 1.1 code.

i don’t know what you guys are talking about, I use only Safari as my Browser and the side bar shows up perfectly
although not exactly like the one on this page it separates the sidebar into its own item looks good
Safari does too recognize “float” command at least i never had any problem with it

ich habe mir auch seit heute die lazy-gallerie zum testen in Wordpress eingebunden.
Meine Frage wäre noch, gibt es die Möglichkeit,
die Unterordner und Hauptordner wo die Fotos liegen, die mir auf der Website mit den Namen desjeweiligen Ordners darstellt werden mit einem Bild anzeigen zu lassen und darunter den Namen des Ordners?
Eine zweite Frage in bezug auf Wordpress hätte ich noch, und zwar wird mein Layout kommplet zerstossen wenn ich auf Kommentare gehe. Woran kann das liegen?

This is a beautiful theme. However, I receive the following error message when I try to upload (with FileZilla) and install Relaxation into WordPress 1.5.2:
bq. Broken Themes The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template. Relaxation: Stylesheet is missing.
But I can see “Relaxation/WordPress/relaxation/style.css” and “Relaxation/Folderblog/relaxation.css” in the theme folder. How can I fix this?

Re: “Stylesheet is missing” — Someone else had a similar problem with a different theme. In their case and mine, the stylesheet was nested too deeply, and WordPress couldn’t see it. I should have uploaded only the “relaxation” (lowercase-r) folder. Works fine now.

Hallo,
erstmal riesengroßes Kompliment für das sehr schöné Theme. Nun meine Frage: Ich hätte gerne als Header ein 700×180 Pixel großes Bild eingesetzt. Nun habe ich versucht dein Header-Bild in Photoshop zu modifizieren, klappt aber leider nicht so wie ich mir das vorgestellt habe. Ok, erstell ich das Bild halt komplett neu. Klappt auch alles wunderbar, nur den schattigen Effekt, der am Rand entlang läuft, den bekomm ich nicht hin. Mit den Aktionseinstellungen für Photoshop aus Deiner zip-Datei klappt das nicht, da ich ein Bild habe und nicht selbst ein Rechteck füllen kann. Kannst Du mir nen Tipp geben, wie Du das gemacht hast?

Hallo Martin, ich bin ab morgen ein paar Tage unterwegs, versuche aber mal Folgendes:
1. Grundform (so wie Du das Bild haben willst) entwerfen und die Aktion anwenden
2. Dein Bild in die richtige Größe bringen und in die PS-Datei ziehen in der Du die Aktion angewandt hast (als oberste Ebene)
3. Auf das Miniaturbild der Ebene “Form White Kopie” bei gedrückter STRG–Taste klicken, damit erhältst Du die Form als Auswahl
4. Auswahl umkehren (STRG+I) und bei aktivierter Ebene mit Deinem Bild “Entf” drücken (also die Auswahl löschen)
Hoffe das war nicht zu kompliziert, ansonsten erklär ich es nächste Woche noch mal ausführlicher. ;-)

Leider komme ich nicht weiter. Ich habe den Ordner relaxation in den Ordner wp-content/themes/kopiert und wollte das Theme auswählen. Leider steht dort dass ein Sylesheet fehlen würde. Im Ordner ‘relaxation’ liegt aber eines.
Kannst Du Dir denken welches CSS hier von Wordpress gesucht wird?
Danke schon mal für den Schupps auf die Lösung.

Ich hab im Moment keine Idee was da nicht stimmt, es sollte eigentlich problemlos funktionieren. Hast Du direkt den relaxation-Ordner unter WordPress verwendet? Also unter wp-content/themes/sollte direkt folgen: relaxation/*.*
Ansonsten poste mal bitte die vollständige Fehlermeldung zur fehlenden CSS–Datei. Vielleicht gibt die noch mehr Aufschluß.

I love this theme but I’m having problems uploading onto WordPress. I have tried to upload this twice but WordPress says the stylesheet is missing. Thanks for your help.

Have you ensured that all is in the right path? only the relaxation-folder in the archive needs to be copied to the theme-folder of wordpress. So it should like this:
wordpress/wp-content/themes/relaxation/*.*where all the files including the style.css should placed under relaxation…

Hello John,
I had sent you an email Friday, but now not sure you got it. This was concerning light commercial use of Relaxation, as I had read the particular license you used under Creative Commons. This is different from many themes, so I’m glad I read your wishes.
Could you confirm, that silence means you didn’t want to consider it, or did I somehow use the wrong email (jowra@jowra.de)?

Please help. I got this error when I installed your theme:

I read that the answer is to change the config.php to make the WP_LANG be en_US, but I have no idea how to do that. Can you tell me where to look?

Hi Danny, schau mal in die style.css und suche folgende Stelle:
#content img {...}dort entfernst Du die Zeile:
float: left;Allerdings fließt der Text dann gar nicht mehr ums Bild. Dafür müßtest Du dann direkt im Beitrags-Editor dem IMG einen style verpassen, alá:

I am using your template Relaxation on my wordpress weblog. Thanks alot for such a nice smooth template.
My Problem is : After a couple of posts, i found that sidebar moves down, i mean all the contents, but when you click on a single post they are back in position i.e. on top.
any help ?

erst mal vielen dank und sehr viel respekt und bewunderung für deine arbeit und vorallem für dein bemühen dieses tolle theme der welt zugänglich zu machen. gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut. danke!
besonderes lob meiner kleinen bescheidenen person verdienst du noch mehr, weil ich einen riesen freudenschrei ausstoßen durfte, als ich die tollen photoshop dateien gefunden habe (nicht nur die aktion, sondern auch die psd_da erbleibt einem user wirklich sehr viel erspart!)
ein oder zwei fragen habe ich aber noch: kannst du veraten, welchen plugin oder wie du deine überschriften so toll heraus hebst. ist das das image-headline plugin oder wie wirkt das so toll?
zudem würde ich gerne wissen, wie du an der siete den link jowra.de immer transparent auf der höhe hälst…?

Well, I’m planning to release a new version in the very near future, but I’m writing my new theme for the CSS Spring Reboot 2006, so this is all a question of time. ;)
Nevertheless, the new version should include all the gimmicks you can see at my homepage at the moment and maybe some more (wider space for the posting for instance…).
So stay tuned, Relaxation will be reloaded within some weeks.

Ich habe da noch so eine kleine Frage.
Ich würde gerne verhindern, dass jemand automatisch Comments zu einem Beitrag posten kann. Ich könnte zwar die Moderation anschalten. Das will ich aber nicht.
Meiner Meinung nach habe ich mal in einer deiner Relaxation-Versionen gesehen, dass es noch eine weitere Zeite bei der Erstellung des Comments gab.
In dieser musste mann in einem weiteren Feld einen Code eingeben der rechts dargestellt war. Ich weiß leider nicht, wie man diese Technik nennt.
Kannst Du mir weiterhelfen?

hallo, ich bins nochmal. ich nutze jetzt sehr gerne dieses cg flashy-titles plugin und wollte dich kurz mal fragen – weil der support beim autor und bei wordpress sehr zu wünschen übriglässt – ob du auch das ein oder andere mal probleme mit der anpassung der schriftgröße hast!?
wie du hier (www.pilgerzentrum.de) siehst, erscheint die schrift in der sidebar in unterschiedlicher größer. diesen “effekt” durfte ich schon öfters beobachten und frage mich nun, wann und wieso er auftritt und was ich dagegen tun kann.

Dirk, the Font is called »Champignon« and you can find it here.
I’ve used a large font-size in Photoshop for this one, around 150px.

warum kann das Relaxation keine Umlaute in der URL bei den Kommentaren? Da jetzt immer mehr Leute Domains mit Umlauten haben, wäre es sehr nützlich (und vor allem ganz nett von dir g), wenn du das noch einbauen könntest.

Hey all — was hoping that someone could clue me in on a total n00b CSS issue:
I’m trying to customize the Random Image Theme for Wordpress, and I’m running into a small — but incredibly annoying — problem.
I’m trying to make the background of the content area white. The background of navigation column that runs down the right side is not plain white (FFFFFF). Rather Photoshop’s color picker claims that it’s F9F9F9 — but this isn’t anywhere in the style.css file. There is a .alt that has a background set at F8F8F8, but when I change that to FFFFFF, it doesn’t help.
Where is that shading coming from?

The shading comes from the underlying background-image wich is F9F9F9. The content itself is transparent so the background is shining through. Simply replace the statement:
#content {
background: transparent;
…
}
with
#content {
background: FFFFFF;
…
}
That should work.

Ich hätte da eine kleine Frage. In nahe gelegener Zukunft werde ich dieses Theme aktiv benutzen. Ich wollte es aber noch vor der Veröffentlichung meines geplanten Projektes für meine Zwecke konfigurieren.
Nun stellt sich mir aber ein kleines Problem in den Weg:
Wie kriege ich die Tagline (Slogan-Satz) unter den Haupttitel (Weblog title). Mir ist schon bewusst, dass ich die Tagline in die header.php einfügen muss, nur: welcher Code und wo genau platziert?
Ich wäre Dir sehr verbunden, wenn du mir das kurz und einfach per E-Mail mitteilen und erklären könntest. Gerne warte ich aber auf eine kleine Rückmeldung, hier im Kommentarbereich.

und zwar direkt unter die Zeile in der der Titel eingebunden wird (bloginfo(‘name’)).

Hi!
Ich bin sehr begeistert von dem Theme! Wirklich klasse!!! Habe es soweit meinen Bedürfnissen angepasst, bin jedoch jetzt auf ein Problem gestoßen: Wenn ich in meine Kommentare Smilies einfüge (über WP-Grins Plugin) werden diese nicht im Kommentarfeld sondern darunter angezeigt. Scheint aber irgendwie mit dem Theme zu tun zu haben, denn bei anderen tritt der “Fehler” nicht auf. Kannst Du Dir das mal anschauen und mir vielleicht nen Lösungsansatz geben?

und entferne das “float: left;”. Dann sollte es eigentlich passen. Allerdings “fließt” dann der Text in den normalen Postings nicht mehr um die Bilder herum. :-/

Hmmm…. Danke für den Tipp! Scheint zu funktionieren. Jedoch sehen die Beiträge dann teilweise nicht mehr so aus, wie sie eigentlich sollten (wie Du schon sagtest wegen den Bildern…). Gibt es denn eine Möglichkeit beides zu kombinieren, also dass der Text in den Postings auch um das Bild “fließt”? Wahrscheinlich nicht oder?!

Du müßtest die img-Definition für den Content so stehen lassen wie es ursprünglich war. Und für die Comments fügst Du in die style.css folgendes hinzu:
#comment img {
float: none;
}

Hallo.
Ich habe ein kleines Problem mit dieser Theme, dass sich wie folgt darstellt: Lange Beiträge werden immer ganz dargestellt, auch wenn die Option eingestellt ist, dass für alle Beiträge nur die Kurzfassung angezeigt werden soll.
Kennt das jemand auch? Wo könnte das Problem liegen?
Ich nutze Wordpress-DE 2.0.4.

Hi Danke für den Kommentar auf meiner Seite, aber funktioniert noch nicht so richtig. Dein Lösungsvorschlag brachte auch keinen Erfolg. Muss ich wohl so wie es jetzt ist damit leben. Also dass die Bilder nicht mehr vom Text umflossen werden.

Ich bin erst seit wenigen Wochen ein Wordpress-Blogger und bin schier verzweifelt– ich bin php und css-untauglich, habe von der Materie keinen Plan. Aber man sollte ich ja ein Template auswählen, dass dann die eigene Website schmückt. Nach einigem Suchen bin ich auf Dein “relaxion”-Theme gestoßen und was soll ich sagen? Es hat mir sofort überaus zugesagt und mirnichtsdirnichts hatte ich es runtergeladen, installiert und dann DAS: die ganze Struktur ist verschoben und es sieht echt bitter aus. vielen Dank für das tolle Feedback. :) Öffne mal mit einem Texteditor die Datei style.css im Relaxation-Verzeichnis. Ziemlich am Ende der Datei findest Du diese Stelle:
.postmetadata { color: #808979; font-size: 11px; letter-spacing: 0.09em; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: right;
}
ergänze sie mal um die Anweisung clear: both; Das Ganze sieht dann so aus:

}
damit sollte das Kuddelmuddel behoben sein. ;)

hallo john! das ist ja der knaller– ich stelle dir eine frage und habe mitten in der nacht 13mins später die antwort! WOW! ich muss das gleich mal ausprobieren… so, da bin ich wieder. zugegeben: etwas frustriert. habe deine anweisungen umgesetzt und die style.css verändert und wieder hochgladen– leider ohne wirklichen erfolg das kuddelmuddel sieht etwas sortierter aus; besteht allerdings weiterhin. für noch mehr tipps wäre ich dir unedlich dankbar… ich will doch nur das theme einsetzen können! einen erneuten screenshot lasse ich bleiben, das theme läuft grade auf meiner seite. vielen danke nochmal und einen wunderschönen tag wünscht

Ich habe mir gerade das Zip runtergeladen und wollte es auf meinem Testserver ausprobieren. Ich nutye die neuste deutsche Version von WP. Die Pfadangaben im ZIP ergeben beim direkten Eetpacken eine Fehlermeldung. Lässt sich aber lösen.
Da die Version Deutsch ist. Es erscheinen noch englische Sätze.

Einfach nur den »letzten« Ordner Relaxation (unterhalb des Themeverzeichnisses) kopieren. Eigentlich klar soweit. Anleitung steht auch in der readme.txt.
Die Version ist nicht in deutsch, sie ist mehrsprachig. Du aktivierst die deutsche Variante mit de_DE in der wp-config.php. Sollte es noch englische Sätze geben, stammen sie nicht von meinem Theme sondern von WordPress selbst. Kannst ja mal schreiben welche englischen Sätze Du noch findest.

Hallo, meine Frage wurde wohl übersehen oder bewußt nicht beantwortet.
Ich habe ein Problem mit der Theme das sich wie folgt darstellt: Beiträge die nur in gekürzter Version erscheinen sollen, erscheinen immer komplett. Bei anderen Theme’s funktioniert das mit der funktion “weiter lesen…” nur bei Relaxation nicht.
Wo könnte das Problem liegen?
Hoffentlich bekomme ich jetzt eine Antwort.

Ertsmal dickes Lob für dieses Theme, ich find wirklich klasse (obwohl so puritisch oder gerade deswegen). Das was meinerseits noch fehlt ist die Möglichkeit, Widgets nutzen zu können. Wäre super wenn ihr das noch einbindet.

Bezüglich der “more”-Funktion.
Jaein. Es geht darum das man im Wordpress ja zum einen den Artikel im ganzen einstellt, sowie einen Abschnitt der angezeigt werden soll. Dieser “Einleitungstext” wird dann angezeigt und darunter erscheint dann der Link “weiter lesen” oder von mir aus auch “more…”.
Aus irgendeinem Grund macht das Relaxation aber nicht und gibt mir immer den ganzen Artikel aus. Bei anderen Theme’s funktioniert das, wie bereits erwähnt.
Eine Idee?

BTW. Das “more” lässt sich ja über einen Code im Text erstellen. Das meine ich jedoch nicht. Sondern die beiden Eingabefelder für den Text…

Well, thats hard Nick. You mixed different HTML–Versions together and the code isn’t correct at all.

Hallo,
Erstmal besten Dank für das hervorragende Theme. Bis jetzt hat alles super funktioniert. Eine Frage habe ich allerdings: Wie kann ich Bilder mit align=“right” machen? Es funktioniert zwar, allerdings gibt es dann keinen Abstand zwischen Bild und Text (funktioniert auch mit hspace nicht).
Wäre froh um etwas Hilfe, danke!

Du solltest es nicht über die veralteten Attribute machen, sondern mit einer CSS–Klasse. In der style.css fügst Du am Ende folgende Klasse hinzu:

Besten Dank für die schnelle Antwort. Hat leider nicht geklappt – das Bild erscheint dann links und ohne Textumfluss, dh. der Text steht unter dem Bild. Mit CSS kenne ich mich leider nicht besonders gut aus, deshalb die altertümlichen align Tags..

Dann solltest Du zumindest mit align und hspace usw. keine Probleme haben.

I’ve made some changes to your original theme to suite my own weblog. Have a look at my website. My Wordpress is running version 2.x. There’s a little “problem” with a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the page. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Found the solution. Some issue in Internet Explorer 6.x. In Firebox it showed up just fine.

Hallo,
zu dem Problem mit den Smilies, das hier angesprochen wurde:
Es wird ja class=“wp-smiley” für die Smilies im geparsten html benutzt. Man ändert also nicht die img-class. Dafür einfach in der style.css folgendes eintragen:
#content img.wp-smiley { float: none; border: none;
}
Dadurch behält man den Fließtext für normale Bilder bei.

erstmal danke für den wirklich eleganten, tollen Theme. Nun aber gleich zu den Problemen:
Ich benutze auf meiner Seite (WP 2.0.5) momentan den ‘I feel dirty’ theme, möchte aber auf Relaxation 2.0 umsteigen. Deshalb habe ich mir einen Testblog angelegt (http://flasunco.fl.funpic.de/wp/), um alle eventuell auftretenden Probleme von vornherein auszumerzen. Folgendes tritt auf: – Die Sidebar war im Firefox ganz unten (also unter dem Ende des Content-Bereichs), das habe ich durch die Ergänzung von “ float: left; “ in #content in der style.css gelöst. Gibt es da eine bessere Lösung? – Sobald Bilder in einem Post waren, versauen die das gesamte Layout. Gelöst durch Löschung von “ float: left; “ in #content img. Nochmal: gibt’s né bessere Lösung? – Ich werde versuchen sowohl meinen Conten– als auch den Sidebar-Bereich zu verbreitern. Muss ich außer den Bildern und der style.css noch irgendetwas bearbeiten?

Das beste Wordpress Theme überhaupt! Es sieht ja so schon sehr schön aus, aber wenn man anfängt, es zu bearbeiten, merkt man erst den wahren Vorteil: Genialer Quelltext!

Hi Jowra, thanks for this nice theme, I have tried to use the folderblog version for a new site of mine www.theplasticlens.com, but due to ongoing problems with folderblog and lack of progress/support with it, I wanted to try wordpress with your theme.
Unfortunately, when I set up wordpress and tried to implement your theme I get this message:
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: cachedfilereader in /nfsn/content/plastic/public/lens/wp-includes/wp-l10n.php on line 67
I’m not sure what i am doing wrong, do i need to include anything else in the relaxation folder in the wp themes folder?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

Relaxation is now multilingual. At the moment there are the following language-files:
en_US – american english (must be explicitly set, otherwise you will get an fatal error) […]
To activate the specific language for your installation, open up the wp-config.php in the wordpress-root-directory and edit this line:
define ('WPLANG', '');e.g. for using the german language-file use:
define ('WPLANG', 'de_DE');—-
So you must use en_US. Hope this helps.

I’m having some problems with my danish translation. I used the en_US.po as source. But for some reason the titel Pages in the sidebar don’t get translated. Same goes for date in the class=commentlink in the comments-template.
I t may be me that use poedit wrong.

Das Design dieses Blos ist wirklich fantastisch. Bestimmt haben Sie an solchen Komplimenten viel Freude. Positive Beiträge sind so selten , aber man kann Menschen wirklich sehr aufbauen. Wenn man z.B. jemanden beim Pflegen seines Gartens Komplimente macht, wie schön dieser doch ist.
Eine Sache verstehe ich nicht: Ihr Eingangsbeitrag ist in deutsch verfasst, aber so viel antworten in englisch. Finde ich komisch. Bin auch neu in der Blog-Szene.

Hallo Jowra,
Erst mal herzlichen Dank für das tolle Theme. Wie mir ein Kollege eben berichtet hat, wird bei uns auf www.zugerhaus.ch in einem IE Explorer das erste Zeichen der Sidebar zu jeweils 3⁄4 nicht dargestellt.
Das D.h. aus Immobilien wird dann mmobilien. Hast Du eine Idee, woran das liegen mag?
Die vom Kollegen benutzte IE Version ist vermutlich nicht 7.

Is das Theme Wordpress 2.3.1 fähig ? Ausserdem fehlt nach dem Upgrade auf die neue Version in deinem Theme die Reiter “Ältere und neuere Beiträge” und ich weiss nicht warum die verschwunden sind. Vielleicht kann mir jemand helfen ?

Zunächst mal auch von mir, gratulation zu dem sehr ansprechenden Theme. Ich nutze es für meinen Blog auf www.schweizerkinder.at
Bei mir werden abgegebene Kommentare und die Eingabemaske für neue Komentare erst dann angezeigt, wenn der Besucher auf den Kommentare-Link klickt. Gibt es irgendwo die Möglichkeit diese Einstellung dahingehend zu ändern, dass Kommentare und die Eingabemaske für neue Kommentare standardmäßig sofort angezeigt werden?
Vieleicht habe ich diese Option nur einfach bis jetzt immer übersehen.

Ich benutze das “Relaxation”-Theme seit Beginn meines Blogs. Es wirkt seriös ohne staubig oder altbacken zu sein. Blutende Augen muss niemand befürchten. Vielen Dank dafür!
Schaust Du da gelegentlich noch drauf, um ggf. Anpassungen für bspw. neue Wordpress-Versionen vorzunehmen?
